Study Says Local Radio "Filthy Dirty"
BRIDGEWATER - A comprehensive study released today suggests your radio may be the most toxic item in your home. The study, conducted by Bridgewater College prof Zephyr Youngdahl and a team of colleagues, concludes that most of what you hear on local stations, especially those in the Top 40 or Urban formats, is "utterly nasty".
"We spent hours listening to each station we could receive. You wouldn't believe the trash out there...it was basically all about s-e-x," Youngdahl said, lowering his voice to a whisper at the end of the sentence.
Youngdahl said he didn't want to embarrass anyone, but the worst stations in the area "rhyme with BlissFM and TrueFunOhFun". There are a few "safe" stations on the air, such as Stardust105.7 and X103 (The Cross), but they are far outnumbered by "horrid, obscene trash spun by rude and foul-mouthed DJs."
"Even Stardust105.7 sometimes gets a little carried away with 'mood music'," noted Youngdahl with a disgusted face.
The Bridgewater College team recommends that listeners discard their radios, or at least keep them away from children and people with heart conditions.

I found an "Urban" station last night that played nothing but MOOOsic"...how disturbing...
I know what you mean. I once got a country station on the air and everybody sounded like they were from Tennessee. Don't you hate that?
